Morning Skating: Rough Weekend

By Artistry

GTOG is still digesting everything that went on this weekend, and yesterday in particular. On the way to the Penguins' game against the Capitals, some guy in a Steelers' jersey side-swiped my car. Then I got a parking ticket. Bad omens. Not even Mike Tomlin joining the Black Eyed Peas at halftime to try to entertain the crowd could change the way this was headed.

The Steelers - Tomlin, Roethlisberger, Mendenhall, all of the defensive backs, and the now immortal-for-all-the-wrong-reasons Keyaron Fox - really let Doug Legursky down. Because the Big Legursky came to play.

Now I wake up on Monday morning only to find that Hall-of-Fame Dave Molinari believes that P.A. Parenteau of the New York Islanders may be the "most intriguing" trade deadline acquisition the Penguins could make to replace the injured Evgeni Malkin. Somebody put me out of my misery.

Not Intriguing
A lesser blog might fold up its tent at this point and call it a day. GTOG is not a lesser blog. We'll have Get To Our Postgame coming around mid-day, and then the Megapod Podcast of the Century up by the end of the night. We'll deal with what happened, but we're looking ahead. No time to wallow in despair.
